The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Iowa is a private, non-partisan organization that was founded in 1935. As a state affiliate of the national ACLU, we fight to advance civil liberties and uphold the Iowa and U.S. Constitutions.
We work in the streets, the courts, and the statehouse to uphold the rights of everyone, regardless of who they are or what they believe—from atheists to devout Christians, from labor unions to businesspeople, and more.
