As an ACLU-IA member, you will automatically be a member of the national organization, the ACLU, which is the only organization in the country working exclusively to protect the individual freedoms guaranteed in the Bill of Rights. We are constantly at work -- in the courts, in Congress, in the state legislature, and in the public forum -- fighting to preserve our precious constitutional rights. Your membership contribution will go to work immediately to protect constitutional rights both here in Iowa and across the nation. We always keep you updated on our current battles through our quarterly newsletter, The Defender, the national newsletter, Civil Liberties, and through this website.

By expanding our membership base, we increase our lobbying strength, encourage greater funding for our programs and enhance awareness of civil liberties' issues. You can help us by joining today. Your membership is the best investment you can make to ensure the continued defense of our personal freedoms.

Although your membership is not tax deductible, it is essential to providing a base for our legislative lobbying work, where we fight to prevent the erosion of our Constitutional Rights. However, the work of the ACLU-IA Foundation is fully tax-deductible and depends upon donations from members to advance our public education and litigation efforts.
